In the first part of this series, we covered the myths, aggravating factors, and genetic predispositions that cause acne to form. Now we will cover the Acne cycle how lesions form, and how to eradicate them.

There are Two Basic Kinds of Lesions or Zits: Non-Inflammatory and Inflammatory

Whichever kind or combination you get, the lesions or zits you have take 90 days to form. So there are zits forming right now that you will not see or feel for about three months, unless they are exacerbated by stress or medication.

Acne Is A Four Letter Word – Part One

Is it not enough that we are blessed with the whole aging cycle, PMS, wrinkles, lines, graying hair and arthritis as we grow more mature and wise? Everyone always told you that Acne was just a complexion problem and that you would outgrow it if you stopped eating so many French fries, hamburgers, sodas, chocolates and candies!

How can Acne go away when so many of us inherited the gene that causes acne from our parents and ingest medication, vitamins, homeopathic remedies, hormones and birth control pills which exacerbate the very problem we are trying to get rid of?

I’ll bet your parents never told you that one out of three adult women and one out of five adult men have Adult Cosmetic Acne from their skin care products, shaving creams, sun blocks, makeup, acne products and self tanning products. Since consumers are taught from the cradle to purchase by The Three P’s: Perfume, Packaging and Price, the cosmetic companies just change the color, fragrance and packaging for men so it will appeal to their psyche.

J. Michaels’ Review of Sage Advice Skin Care-Part Five

April 17th, 2011 | by SageAdvice | skin care, testimonials

J:  You have been very successful at clearing acne for thousands of people.  I understand that you feel that it is very important to pay attention to products and cosmetics with comedogenic (acne-causing) ingredients. What really impresses me is that you have a list of these ingredients on your website! Why should people pay attention to these ingredients?

B:  How can Acne go away when so many of us inherited the gene that causes acne from our parents and ingest medication, vitamins, homeopathic remedies, hormones and birth control pills which exacerbate the very problem we are trying to get rid of? If you have inherited (genetic) acne and have cosmetic acne from products, it simply does not go away as we age. Instead, we reap the benefits of aging skin and the effect it has had on our acne, giving us discolored, uneven, bumpy, leathery, red or irritated looking skin. Comedogenic ingredients cause cosmetic acne in one out of three women and one out of five men. They also exacerbate acne in those who have it genetically and from stress, hormones, etc. Any ingredient that is a 3,4 or 5 on this list may not be used in skin care, make up shaving products, etc. There are different types of acne and unfortunately all of them respond to comedogenic ingredients. One out of three women and one out of five me have acne from their skin care products and make up. Since skin care companies are now targeting men (different packaging, fragrance, pricing) cosmetic acne is on the rise for men. This is called Acne Cosmetica or cosmetic acne. Any ingredient that is a three, four or five on this list may not be used on skin with acne or by an individual with acne in their family since the auto somal or dominant characteristic gene for acne is usually passed down.

J. Michaels’ Review of Sage Advice Skin Care-Part Four

J:  Everyone seems to be on the anti aging bandwagon. I am always seeing advertisements for products such as Hydroxatone and many others that claim to have Alpha Hydroxy Acid.  I understand that you have been creating anti aging products for over 20 years.  What are some of your most successful products at eliminating wrinkles and making the skin look and feel years younger, and how do they differ from the advertized over the counter products?

B: That is an interesting question. My original products Smoothing Cream and Smoothing Gel started out in the early 90’s with Alpha Hydroxy acid in them. Since then we have added salicylic acid, Hyaluronic Acid, and L Ascorbic Acid. I started a new product with Coneflower and Acetyl Hexapeptide 8 or Argireline called Firming and Brightening Crème. They are now combined in one product: Smoothing, Firming and Brightening Crème and Smoothing Gel with Acetyl Hexapeptide 8, and both contain  10% Acetyl Hexapeptide 8. These ingredients really work well in brightening the skin along with firming and eliminating fine lines and wrinkles.  However, the addition of SPF 27 or 40 to your skin care regime is the major preventer of these symptoms. Mother Strickland’s Instant Line Reducer is absolutely amazing because it works immediately to tighten and firm the skin. Also, the ingredients Essenskin and Acetyl Hexapeptide 8  (Peptides) work extremely well on long term tightening and firming. The more you use these products consistently the better results you receive! Again the products are pure and only minute amounts are needed to produce results. We tell you to use pea-sized and or flat dimes worth amounts on damp skin because we hydrolyze the ingredients to penetrate on contact, making the products last a long time.

J. Michaels’ Review of Sage Advice Skin Care-Part Three

The way this works online isn’t as difficult as you might think. We have a wonderful online profile for each individual to fill out in depth and we match that with their order to make sure they have selected the correct try me pack and strengths for their skin and it’s specific conditions. If the try me pack and profile do not match we contact them immediately and make suggestions for what I feel they truly need.

J: Obviously this has been very successful for you; however I am curious to know what made you decide to go into the skin care business?

B: I spent a great deal of time in cooking schools like Le Cordon Blue in America and overseas. I think skin care is just like cooking. For food you add the ingredients based on the taste, color, aroma and texture that you want. For skin care, you add ingredients based on what you want the product to accomplish as well as the addition or lack of color and of course texture or viscosity. Skin care is very similar to cooking.

INTERVIEW:

J:  Barbara I understand that you are a Paramedical Esthetician. Do you mind that term specifically for those of us who really don’t know the difference and how long you have held this title?

B: I have been a Para Medical Esthetician since 1984. In order to use this certification you must have training in skin structure and function, cosmetic chemistry and anatomy and physiology. This gives me the knowledge to analyze the skin of my client and make choices for his or her skin based on what their skin needs in terms of moisture, acne fighting, anti aging or Rosacea products and custom formulate for their particular skin and needs.

Sage Skin Care: A Very Wise Choice!

By J. Michaels, www.truebeauty411.com

November 2010

Okay let’s face it.  We are all looking for the Fountain of Youth or something pretty darn close to it.  The desire to look young and beautiful and vibrant has been forced upon us by society and its “fittest” since Darwin and his theories have existed.  We have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on beauty products, cosmetics, and fashion! We cling to what the media has told us to buy, what to wear and of course how to feel. Those are such important factors that have such an impact on who we are inside. Is this really necessary? Many of us think it is.  So where am I going with this? Okay.  We want to look our best. Of course we do!  Looking our best helps us to achieve the goals society, and maybe ourselves, set out for us. We want to look and feel beautiful!  So why not do so using products, cosmetics, and procedures that really work.  There are some amazing products that have great ingredients that actually do wonders for your skin, and these products have been around for a very long time. In fact, there are products that have been created by people who know what the heck they are doing and who will help us achieve the goals I just mentioned.  Is this crazy? No. It’s actually quite simple and affordable.  That is what this entire website is about.  I’m going to tell you how to look great, which will enable you to feel great.  However, your wardrobe is all on you.

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It Part Two

Here are more testimonials from our beloved customers! We thank everyone for their feedback.  Please send us your testimonials, we love to hear from you!

About 13 years ago, I was desperate to find a solution for my acne problem.  I didn’t have huge problems as a teenager, but when I hit my early 20′s, I did something to cause my skin to have a chemical burn, and struggled with bad acne after that.  I had tried many other skin care lines; over the counter, shopping network, and on-line and none of them helped.  Then one day, I was searching on-line and came across Sage Skincare.  Not only was this website a wealth of information, but it included a questionnaire to help you start off on the right foot with the correct products for your skin type.  I’ll never forget, the minute after I submitted the questionnaire, I got an e-mail from Barbara, the creator and owner herself asking me to give her a call.  I have never experienced this type of service before.  I ordered the try me kit for acne and that was the start of the most wonderful relationship.  I am serious when I say that Sage is more than a skin care company, they are like a part of my family. There are so many “best things” about Sage, I can’t narrow it down to just one.  Read full story

For nearly 30 years Sage Advice Skin Care has transformed skin and changed the lives of people suffering from acne and aging skin all over this world! However, sometimes other people’s experiences are the most convincing, and we have put together some testimonials from people just like you who have desperately needed a change and something that truly works!  Here is what some of our clients have to say about how Sage Advice Skin Care has been the only product line that has worked:

I have been using Sage skin care, since January 2011.  Sage has given me hope that my skin can be perfect.  I have very sensitive skin yet still break out once in a while.  Sage is gentle yet still effective on my skin.  It is the only skin care that has worked on both problems.  I look forward to using the products every morning and night.  Thank you for making skin care products that actually work!  I am 23 years old and Sage will be my choice of product for life.  It has made a difference in my every day life.

Sincerely,
Liz K.
